As part of our full service to customers, Andean includes sample retrieval on any production hole where a clear geological contact needs to be defined. This helps reduce dilution and hanging and foot wall disturbances during extraction. We can sample and test the holes along the ore contact and in conjunction with Geology, only extract ore which meets cutoff grade.

High Pressure Grouting
Ground water control via high pressure grouting
High pressure grouting is a process used where inflow of water must be controlled underground. This process entails the drilling of pre determined holes which are then grouted using a high pressure grouting system. The grout will divert the water to other areas in the rock mass where pumps are located, keeping the excavation dry and under control. This application works extremely well in a ramp decline where inflow of water is affecting ramp development. Andean uses pneumatic powered equipment because of its efficiency, easy set ups and puts less strain on the mines electrical department. This often means that we can get in and out without interrupting cycle times or hanging specific utilities to grout a few holes.
We can easily set up and drill service holes with the top hammer air buggy for shorter holes, and with an ITH for longer holes. These service holes are used for drainage, electrical needs, paste fill holes, transfer holes and probe holes to obtain geological data. We also drill and install smart cables to monitor ground movement and many other applications.
De Watering holes. We have had proven success in drilling and installing dewatering pumps ahead of the ramp development. This combined with our high pressure grouting service is a very good option to assure safety and productivity while working in the wettest conditions.
As always, safely hitting our target is our objective. Incorrect drilling including wrong positioning, incorrect angle, hole deviation, and incorrect depth can pose serious risks. The rod handler and integrated turntable allows us to drill in any position without exposing our personnel to the risks of manually maneuvering drill rods. We are able to drill infill holes up to 250 meters in HQ to determine the exact dimensions of the ore body as well as geotechnical data holes to properly plan the ground support requirements. We have seen exceptionally low dilution factors in underground stoping when this machine is onsite.
